Mr. Easter Bunny came to town.

The three cousin's Easter baskets: Hello Kitty for Grace, Elmo for Hugo & Basketballs for Noah.
Grace found her peeps.
Bubbles in a plastic icecream cone.
Suckers for breakfast. So nutritious!
Dying Easter eggs.
A lovely combination.
Hugo found a pink egg.
More importantly, what's inside?
Cousin hugs.
Noah & his lil' guy, Hugo.

This is Aunt Ta Ta's take on Hugo in action.

Monkey Business

Hugo likes to hang. He likes to hang on the monkey bars, he likes to hang on door frames & most recently he likes to hang on trees. He took a liking to Granny's Dogwood tree over the weekend when we were in Nashville celebrating the Easter holiday. He is surprisingly strong for his age. I like to think Hugo will be a gymnast with his super hanging abilities. He likes to do headstands too, but that's another blog.
Side view.
Look! There's a monkey in that tree.
Just hangin', folks.
Hanging is serious business. Hugo ponders this thought for a bit & wonders what other things he can hang from. Who knows what will be next?

Happy 60th Birthday, Pap!

Pap, 60 years, huh? I have a lot of years to go to catch up with you. I hope you had a super duper special day . I look forward to spending time with you soon. I wish I could have been there to celebrate your 60 years, but I'm glad Aunt Karen "Fluff" was with you. I sure do love you, Pap. When I went to the Circus last week there was a man who sat behind us that was a Pap look-a-like. I kept saying "Pap" and wondered why he wouldn't talk to me. Then Mama told me it wasn't you. I was missing you extra bad after that. Happy Day, Pap! I'll see you soon.

Happy Birthday, Paw Paw!

We love you & miss you, Paw Paw. We hope you had a supreme birthday. Wish we could have been there to celebrate. We'll see you next week!

Macaroni & me

Hugo got to ride a little white pony named Macaroni at the Brown County State Park on Saturday. Pony rides are only $2 per lap. It was well worth the money. Hugo kept leaning down during the ride & kissing the pony's mane. Later on when he tried to tell other people about his time he called the pony "Cheese" because of associating macaroni with cheese.
He's a natural horseman. He isn't scared & holds onto the Saddle horn like a pro. Howdy ya'll!

Chop, chop, chop!

Hugo's new mohawk.
Cheese!
Where did my hair go, Mum?
A very nice lady at Max & Mia's salon gave Hugo his snazzy fauxhawk do. Hugo was perfectly behaved during the entire haircut. I was so proud. I love his haircut, because you can see his handsome face; but, I have to admit I almost cried when I first saw all his baby hair was gone. Where did my baby go? He looks so grown up now!

Lesson

Funny face. Funny hat.
Hugo likes hats. He likes to steal his Pops' hat.
He likes to look at himself when he is wearing hats.
He has discovered the stove is a perfect place for him to do this since we don't have any mirrors on his level.
He doesn't seem distracted by the grime on the stove, does he? I was hesitant to post some of these pictures, because it shows the clutter & choas in my life right now. Some days it feels like nothing is clean or organized. I was inspired by my sister's recent blog post showing her cluttered counters & how the death of someone she knew put things into perspective for her. Watching my son play & seeing these pictures reminded me that kids seem to inherently know what is really important in life. While we are worrying over fingerprints & dirt they are exploring their fantastic universe & themselves. Our reflections all get smudged sometimes. If we could only learn how to see through the distorted view to what is truly there we might feel some of that magic.

Mahna Mahna

Hugo loves this Muppets video. We must play it over & over again, or He gets upset & repeats "Mahna Mahna" until we do. Clever fellow.

Chuck E. Cheese

Our family went to Chuck E. Cheese in Columbus on Friday night. There was quite a crowd. Lots of tots running around.
Say "cheese!"
Hugo got to steer in a safari game or "do do do" as he says.
Hugo & Pops contemplating on which game to play next. We were sad that they no longer had the ball pit, but we made up for it playing ski ball.
We played a lame water gun game. We thought it would be more challenging, but all it consisted of was squirting water in a hole.
We had more fun playing kiddie basketball.
Hugo wants to be like his cousin Noah & shoot the ball.
We didn't even make one single basket. Frown. We did get enough tickets from our other games to get a loopy straw & a lollipop though.
"Gee, I sure wish this ride didn't have to end."
Goodnight folks.

I heart you.

Happy Valentine's Day.
Flamingo love.
My cousin, Grace, with her funny lips lollipop.
I spent Valentine's with my cousins Grace & Noah. Here they are giving me a special Hugo Valentine's sandwich.
XOXO yummy chocolate chip cookies
Chocolate marshmallow pop. Thanks to Aunt Staci for this clever idea.
I'll test this thing out.
Chocolate with sprinkles is a bonus.
This goo is so much fun to eat.
And now for my next trick I will cram this marshmallow into my mouth.
Good to the last bite.
Aaaahhhh.........I'm satisfied.
